UMO Kyiv Metropolitan Area За результатами співбесіди

About Us UMO is a stealth-mode FinTech venture aiming to evolve the way people experience money by building a unified, AI-powered, yet deeply human modern money platform across fiat, crypto, and investments - subject to regulatory approvals. The platform is being designed to break down traditional barriers to money across access, assets, and experience, enabling simpler, more adaptive ways for people to interact with financial services. We are currently developing our MVP and navigating licensing requirements, with a multidisciplinary team of 100+ people representing 20+ nationalities. With our headquarters in the UAE and offices in Portugal and Ukraine, we are united behind a shared ambition and a relentless focus on serving our customers. About the Role We are looking for a Python Engineer who thrives at the intersection of data orchestration, financial workflows, and AI integration. In this role, you will design and optimize backend microservices, build robust data extraction and transformation pipelines, and implement AI/ML functionalities directly into our unified financial platform. You will be instrumental in ensuring our core infrastructure remains secure, performant, and ready to scale across international markets. Key Responsibilities Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, testable, and scalable backend services using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, or Flask). Data Pipelines & Integration: Build and maintain structured pipelines for data collection, ETL processes, and real-time streaming, integrating seamlessly with core banking and blockchain nodes. AI & LLM Integration: Work closely with cross-functional engineering and data teams to embed predictive analytics, smart financial categorization, and LLM-driven features into customer-facing applications. API Architecture: Design secure, predictable, and well-documented RESTful and gRPC APIs to connect internal microservices and external fintech ecosystem partners. Database Management: Optimize queries, schemas, and indexing strategies for both relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching systems (Redis). Code Quality & Best Practices: Participate in rigorous code reviews, write comprehensive unit/integration tests, and contribute to internal architectural standards. Requirements Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on Python. Framework Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience with FastAPI, asynchronous programming in Python (asyncio), and related package ecosystems. Database Skills: Solid understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions, including query optimization, handling high-concurrency connections, and practical experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate) for semantic search and AI retrieval architectures. Infrastructure & Tools: Comfortable working with Docker, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI), and cloud services (AWS or GCP). Fintech Mindset: Basic understanding of financial architectures, transaction flows, encryption standards, or crypto-fiat transactional systems. Team player: Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong capacity to collaborate in a distributed, remote-first setup. Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English (B2+). Bonus Points Multi-language stack: Experience with or exposure to Node.js / TypeScript. AI-Augmented Workflows: Regular use of tools like Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development cycles. Data Ecosystems: Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ) or orchestration tools (Airflow/Prefect). The UMO Standard Dynamic Work Environment: Vibrant offices and strong local teams across Lisbon, Dubai, Kyiv, and Lviv - with openness to remote for the right fit. Rest & Recovery: 24 days of annual leave, dedicated paid sick leave, and observance of Public Holidays to keep you at your best. Recharge Week: After your first year with us, enjoy two consecutive 4-day work weeks annually - a built-in reset to help you sustain peak performance for the long run. Full Setup: Top-of-the-line hardware and a home office stipend so you can do your best work anywhere. Growth Ecosystem: A dedicated learning budget and a clear, accelerated path toward executive-level leadership within the UMO ecosystem. Impact & Ownership: Your work directly shapes the product and company direction - not just executes it.
