We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to help design, develop, and evolve a backend platform that supports complex business processes and scalable services. In this role, you will work across architecture, implementation, testing, and system improvements, contributing to both existing applications and new backend capabilities. The position is centered on PHP and Laravel, with a strong focus on maintainability, performance, and sound engineering practices.
Required for this role
- 6+ years of experience developing applications with PHP
- Deep expertise in Laravel, including service containers, contracts, service providers, events, listeners, custom collections, and related framework internals
- Experience creating and maintaining private packages, shared libraries, and reusable Laravel modules
- Strong background in automated testing with PHPUnit, including feature, HTTP, integration testing, data providers, and mocking techniques
- Solid understanding and practical experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems, including microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Advanced knowledge of REST API design, including authentication, versioning, validation, pagination, error handling, and API best practices
- Strong expertise in MySQL, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactional workflows, and database performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with Redis, messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or other AMQP-compatible platforms, and containerized development using Docker
- Experience working with AWS services such as SNS and SQS, as well as strong knowledge of Git, branching strategies, CI/CD practices, and Agile development processes
Your responsibilities
- Drive backend development initiatives using PHP and Laravel, ensuring high code quality and scalable system design
- Collaborate with business analysts, product stakeholders, and technical leaders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing, release support, and continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain reliable, high-performing REST APIs while preserving backward compatibility and platform stability
- Refactor and modernize existing applications to improve maintainability, scalability, and overall performance
- Design and implement distributed solutions using microservices, service-oriented approaches, and DDD principles
- Build asynchronous processing workflows using messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, and similar event-driven platforms
- Contribute to architectural decisions, develop reusable engineering components, and help improve the overall backend platform
