PioGroup Software is a team of professionals passionate about building reliable digital products. We are looking for an experienced PHP / Laravel Developer to join a long-term client project for a fixed 6-month full-time contract.
The position is temporary and covers the current Lead Laravel Developer’s paternity leave. No leadership responsibilities are expected - the engineer will work autonomously while collaborating closely with other Laravel developers and the wider engineering team.
Project
The project is an Active Diagnostics platform that helps social housing residents report repair issues quickly and accurately through an intuitive guided flow.
Users go through a structured series of diagnostic questions that help identify the nature of the issue. Once the diagnosis is completed, the relevant data is passed to the integration layer for formal repair logging and further processing.
The platform uses Vue.js on the frontend and Laravel on the backend.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial experience with PHP
- 5+ years of commercial experience with Laravel
- 1+ year of recent commercial experience with Vue.js
- English B2+ (speak fluently and write clearly)
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools in daily work
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Proactive communication and ability to raise blockers or technical concerns
- Experience working in an Agile environment
Location requirement: candidates must currently reside in a GDPR-compliant country. This is mandatory, as corporate hardware will be delivered to the selected engineer.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user-facing functionality using Vue.js and Laravel
- Enhance the administration panel used to manage diagnostic questions, content, repair categories, and problem types
- Investigate and resolve issues across frontend, backend, and integration services
- Support client-specific implementations where additional product expertise is required
- Contribute to technical discussions and engineering decisions
- Share knowledge and collaborate with the Diagnostics and wider engineering teams
- Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the daily engineering workflow
Team & Workflow
You will join an established engineering team consisting of:
- 2 Middle+ Laravel Engineers in the Diagnostics team
- 4 engineers working with Drupal
- Collaboration with the Drupal Lead and Head of Delivery
The team works according to Agile methodology, with daily morning meetings and a regular working schedule.
